Fun Fearless Fabulous | Spring Jackets

Hey Gorgeous Readers!

It's been raining here this weekend so aside from wishing I were at Coachella.. I've been reading Cosmopolitan and thinking I need more spring jackets. Combining the two I decided I wanted to do my own spin on their "Fun Fearless.. Fail" feature...

First- Some Coachella tracks..

Fun. Fearless.. Fabulous

White Jackets

Forever 21 has this cute denim utility jacket with much needed hood for spring showers. I'm a fan of the utilitarian trend with useful buttons and pockets. Unlined it's perfect for the just chilly weather. Bonus- like most Forever 21 clothing, it's a steal at a little under $40!

I had to include this Alexander Wang jacket not just because of the asymmetric closure, contrasting stitching, and the 'X' hardware, but because it was just announced he's collaborating with H&M next November!

I've been living in my vegan/faux leather jackets all fall and winter and now I would love to get a white one too. This one at Express has 3/4 length sleeves and cool quilting detail.

Trench Coats

Italian brand, Fracomina, has this totally fun beach printed trench that I want to wear all spring while dreaming of summer.

While this Coach jacket is classic in silhouette, length, buttons, and sleeve hardware, the red colour is bold and fearless!

Via Spiga, at Bloomingdales' trench is one of my favourite spring colours. What I thought was most fabulous of course was the stud details on the pockets and collar.

Floral Jackets

Taking inspiration from Coachella, I found two favourites from previous seasons on Florence Welch and Cara Delevigne. Like Florence's look, this Dolce&Gabbana cropped jacket has similar colours. I think the crop is super fun and has some more mint colour in it.

Personally I would wear the lighter florals, but if you're more fearless.. darker also trended on the runways for SS14. The Textile kind of did a mix of both light and dark and I love a bomber jacekt.

Like Cara's jacket, this Ostwald Helgason one has a busy print (you may not even need the busy print top and shorts with it..) And.. It's fabulous because it comes in pink!

Stay Fabulous,

#Fabuluxe 1st Birthday Party Giveaway!

Hello Gorgeous Readers!

Can you believe it's Bows&Beau-ties' first birthday?? It's crazy to think about everything I've gotten to do and share with all of you over the past year. Between Milwaukee and Chicago, this has been a huge year of fashion shows and shopping. I began this blog out of admiration for everyone I had met in the fashion and art industry and my love of writing. And I've continued to be in awe of nearly everyone I've met since then as well.

Bows&Beau-ties began the year with a summer of fabulous fashion shows from YophoriClothing's "Beauty is in Everything" in Milwaukee to Fashion in the Street in Chicago where I met who is now one of my role models, Benjamin Cottrell, and then back to Milwaukee for Timothy Westbrook's Project Runway Premiere Party (also love him).

I was honored to have received not just one, but four Liebster Award nominations through this year. I was especially excited to have gotten my first nomination from the amazing Ali at AllieNYC (previously Dressing Ken). A blogger that I've been reading since before Bows&Beau-ties started. In fact she was a great influence and inspiration in starting this blog.

A few months ago I did a throwback post to SE Wisconsin Fashion Industry Meet&Greet- which is the show I was doing when Bows&Beau-ties' launched. Spending so much time rehearsing with gorgeous and talented models and then spending the night talking to some of Milwaukee's top fashion industry professionals was great inspiration and motivation for starting Bows&Beau-ties. Another event worth highlighting is Lela Boutique's 10th Anniversary. Lela Boutique hosted one of the very first fashion events I ever attended and I still love it. I was so excited to celebrate their 10 fabulous years along with blogger friend, Anngelik at Vogue & Heels (another gorgeous person I'm lucky to have met this year). More recently, we got this chic makeover. And I just have to link love to one of my personal favourite posts that looks great on the made-over blog: Trend Forecast SS14 Pink Parade.

Now to celebrate this fabuluxe occasion.. I want to thank all of you, my gorgeous readers, whether you've been here from the beginning or this is your first post. All of your comments, follows, emails, and social media messages always make my day. So, I'm hosting my own birthday party (giveaway)!

How to | All Black Dress Code

Hey Gorgeous Readers!

Sometimes we can't just wear what we want due to- pausing for dramatic effect- Dress Codes. Whether it's a specific event and place, group of people we're seeing, or work/school, it always seems a bit hard to stand out in a strict dress code.

One I've had to work with was- all black. No tank tops or graphics/logos. You could wear a different colour top, but only covered by a black blazer or cardigan. Luckily, any shoes were allowed. Maybe it's just because I love wearing bright colours and pretty much never wear a shirt with sleeves (yes even in Wisconsin's winter). I layer and layer those sweaters and jackets over a tank top... I just have so many. And hello summer- layered tank tops, shorts, and flats-- 24/7. Anyways I found the all black dress code a bit hard.

By adding in some strategic accessories it's super easy to stay on-trend and separate yourself from everyone else. Blush pink (like those flats) and mint (like that tank top) are major for SS14 and add a bright pop of freshness to any look especially an all dull black look. I am personally in love with rings right now- statement, embellished, stacked. I wouldn't go with the most dramatic ring you can find for work. The double lion ring is pushing it.. but I just really love it. The triple and four finger ones are definitely for the weekend. Statement necklaces that hang higher by your neck are great since they add shine without getting in the way and not noisy while working.

Stay Fabulous,
xoxo Aimee
